In math my fourth graders study geometry. Instead of giving them a boring paper and pencil test, I have them create a design which includes all required elements from our two chapters. They trade papers with a buddy so their buddy can identify all required elements too. Next they use a black Sharpie marker to transfer their design to the glass from an 8X10 inch frame I picked up at the Dollar Store. Using glass paint from Michael’s Craft Store, students fill in all areas of their design. I hot glue the glass back into the frame and we wrap them for Mother’s Day. A math test and a Mother’s Day gift – I love twofers!!!
